Surprisingly Sulky Sunday
Today started strangely, with a dream about being chased by a pervy gamer trying to watch me undress. (There was a lot more to the dream, but it was one of those rambling, hardly connected dreams and I don’t remember much)
Les and I had planned to get up early and do laundry, but we had a tough time getting out of bed and the clothesline was full of Sigi’s stuff. (She took everything down around 11 or so, but our motivation was already long gone.)
We also had tenuous plans with Lee and then gaming in the afternoon - Les couldn’t get ahold of Lee and gaming was cancelled due to Ul’s work Christmas party.
We re-grouped and made movie plans with Vi, grabbed some stuff for lunch and headed to Les’s office so he could get a little work done and I could do some internet stuff.
On the way we stopped at a stationary store. (It’s closing and there’s a half off sale.) As I was getting out of the car, I noticed that the closure on my necklace had broken. The gap on one ring had widened. Easy fix. As I was working on the ring, the glass pendant slid off the plastic necklace and fell to the floor, breaking into several pieces. It did not shatter, thankfully, and there is a hope of putting it back together.
I was very upset. (I’m still upset, but not so much.) I was beating myself up about not being careful until Les sternly ordered me to stop.
Mom gave me that necklace. She bought it at a jewelry fair at work, so we have no idea where it actually came from. I really loved it, and I’m sorry that it’ll never be the same. ::Sigh::
As I mentioned, Les told me to stop blaming myself, but it’s hard.
It’s now raining cats and dogs and I feel much less like company than I did this morning, but we can’t cancel with Vi as I have a bunch of her stuff and I need to return it to her.
