First Post from Africa!

Sorry for lateness! The week leading up to my flight was crazy busy; I spent a lot of time hanging out with friends and family and getting everything ready to leave. My parents threw me a lovely Bon Voyage party and I got to see my cousins. I hadn’t seen them in a long time, and it was really nice to see them.

The flight here was extremely long, but otherwise not bad. It wasn’t a full flight, so I had two seats to myself and I curled up for some naptime. I also filled my ipod with stuffs, so I kept myself entertained.

Les picked me up from the airport and we drove home to unpack a little bit before we headed over to his friends’ house for some band practice/a mini-party.

The next morning, we went out to Pretoria for an early-morning wedding. (Who gets married at 9:30 in the morning, anyway?) The wedding was in Afrikaans, so I understood very little, but it was in a very pretty location. We spent the rest of the day wandering around the area (it was far from his house) and then went out to dinner with the bride’s brother and assorted friends that night.

We spent Sunday morning and early afternoon at home waiting for my delayed baggage. It was promised for 11, but arrived around 2. (Unopened(!) despite spending at least one night at JNB. I wrapped all possible opening points with cable bike locks.) I quickly unpacked and we drove out to Centurion for gaming. My new character is a Protective Paladin. I also got to show off Dr. Horrible to great acclaim. :D

Today was spent trying to accomplish stuff, but most of the required items were left at home. Not much was done, but I have hope for tomorrow.

I’m getting very sleepy now, but I’m trying to stay awake to talk to Mom and Dad on Skype. Don’t know how long I’ll last…
