Project Runway!

I’ve now watched most of the Project Runway finale; I just have to see the judging. I already know who won, but I want to get my comments in before I hear the judges.

I agree with the general feeling that this season of PR was lacking in fashion, overly dramatic and fairly ridiculous, but I think the finale made up for it. The clothing was really beautiful and it was great comparing the different aesthetics. Kenley, Korto and Leanne all have very strong points of view, and I felt the lines played against each other in a pleasing way. :D

Kenley’s collection was very fun, but she’s also more hit-and-miss than the other two. She could really improve if she could learn to take constructive criticsm, and be more selective when choosing contrasting patterns. Also, I didn’t agree with the choice of music; Her clothes were so brightly colored and full of movement that the tempo was slowing them down (if you know what I mean).

I loved Korto’s collection. I would definitely wear her line. I love the palette, the fabrics, the silhouettes. I want all her clothes. I felt her choice of music was great and I loved her little fans.

Leanne’s line was art. Fabric sculpture. I wouldn’t wear so many of her clothes, but I can’t help but admire her technical skill and structural aesthetic. She makes beautiful fashion. Loved her choice of music.

I think it was a close competition, but that the fashion improved with every designer.

And onto the judging!
