Last Day at Work!

Today’s the last day at work, which means the trip is becoming very real in my mind. It’s not just an idea anymore - in 7 days, I’ll be flying to South Africa.

The night’s been somewhat frustrating.  Callers are really annoying me tonight. I may have a little credit card rant later, but I don’t feel like it just yet.

I tried to watch the debate, but I forget my headphones, and McCain’s repeated untruths are digging into my headache without mercy.  I’ll watch it at home, after a nap.  I missed the Project Runway finale, which is normal, cause I always work on Wednesdays, but when I logged into Facebook, someone had posted the winner in their status. So that surprise is ruined. I’m glad my favorite won - I knew it! - but I really did want it to be a surprise.

In the week leading up to my departure, I have tons to do. There’s packing, cleaning, a buffet of social events. Also, there’re money worries and they keep me fairly busy.  The amount of my debt is pretty small compared to many others, but the economy doesn’t look like it’s getting better anytime soon.

But anyway, last day at work. I took everything off the walls of my cube and cleaned out my drawers.  I handed off all my leftover education materials to new team members and said my good byes to my friends on the floor.

Callers have been annoying tonight, as I said above.  I don’t know if it’s just cause I wanna get out of here or just one of those nights when everyone’s bitchy. (They happen, trust me!)
